Electronic cigarettes

In a world where everything is set to become faster, cheaper, more environmentally friendly, and digital or electronic to boot, how can this possibly affect cigarette smoking, I hear you ask? Well actually, it is a far more environmentally-friendly option to consider.

An electronic cigarette is an alternative to the cigarette, providing small amounts of the chemical nicotine with each inhalation. The device takes the form of a tiny rod which is slightly longer than a normal cigarette. The mouthpiece of the device contains a replaceable cartridge filled with liquid. The main substances contained in the liquid are nicotine, propylene glycol, and is enhanced with optional flavors or aromas. When the user inhales through the device, the air flow is detected by a sensor.

A microprocessor then activates an atomizer, which injects tiny droplets of the liquid into the flowing air and vaporises the nicotine. This produces a vapour mist which is inhaled by the user. The addition of propylene glycol to the liquid makes the mist better resemble normal cigarette smoke. The microprocessor also activates an orange light emitting diode, or LED, at the tip to simulate real smoking. Electronic cigarettes generally use a rechargeable battery as a power source. Battery life varies between devices, with some lasting a day between charges, and others lasting a week.

Cartridges for electronic cigarettes are usually offered in a variety of formulations, with different flavours, namely fruit, mint, and coffee, and nicotine concentrations. At the upper range of nicotine concentrations, electronic cigarette smoking is equivalent in nicotine delivery to average tobacco cigarettes. Most companies also offer a range of milder options, including completely nicotine-free cartridges. Depending on the device, the solution cartridges are good for between one hundred to six hundred inhalations. An empty cartridge can be replaced with a new cartridge or it can be refilled with solution. This solution is sometimes called e-liquid and is often sold in bottles of ten millilitres.

Electronic cigarettes are generally considered to be a healthier alternative to tobacco smoking, since most of the harmful materials produced by the combustion of tobacco in traditional cigarettes is not present in the atomised liquid of an electronic cigarette.

They can also be used as a way to curtail an addiction to nicotine. Various toxicological studies of the electronic cigarettes have been conducted, with some concluding that electronic cigarettes are less harmful than traditional tobacco cigarettes, because they can deliver nicotine into the lungs without the carcinogens and toxicants. Nevertheless, the device still delivers nicotine.

With all the negative publicity surrounding the act or smoking, including a “Smoking Kills” campaign around the world, the emphasis on providing a healthier option, especially amongst teenagers is becoming a top priority. The electronic cigarette may well lead the way towards this end.

The upside of this is that anyone can light up now, among family and friends who are non-smokers, and be socially acceptable at the same time. In the United Kingdom, electronic cigarette use is currently unrestricted, with celebrity nightclub “Chinawhite” allowing use of the devices indoors, where traditional cigarette smoking is prohibited.

Smoking still in Vogue, italian style

Fashion and smoking have been inextricably linked for decades. Models smoke on catwalks (and not just when wearing Yves St Laurent’s iconic Le Smoking trouser suit) and in fashion spreads.

Supermodels such as Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss appear in the celebrity press smoking in “real life”.

And some fashion designers are happy to associate their brand and products with smoking, such as the ads for Gucci handbags that appeared in several top European fashion magazines last autumn showing cigarette ash “stylishly” scattered across their expensive bags.

It therefore was a surprise to many when earlier this year Italy, arguably the most fashion conscious and stylish country in the world, passed and implemented more comprehensive legislation on smoke-free public places.

Furthermore, the legislation appears to be working, with few breaches being reported. However, it would appear that some in the Italian fashion world are finding their addiction to tobacco more . . .

Cigarettes will sharply rise in price in Duty Free

The manager of Duty Free market network James Richardson announced about cigarettes sharp rise in price. This action was determined by dollar price collapse and their products has all the prices in dollars. Magazine “Idiot Aeronaut” wrote about that on its pages.

More than that, the import of cigarettes will rise in price in Duty Free and their prices will be increased about 10%. The price for one carton will increase with 2$ and one box – with 10$.

Representatives of duty free network explained that in the last month they suffered considerable losses.

They have losses not only from shekel revaluation but also from appreciation of foreign exchange of euro compared to dollar.

This thing happens because the bulk of goods on sale are imported from Europe.

Though, in spite of this price increasing, the administration of duty free network affirms that prices from their stores are as usual very profitable on the local market and much lower than in other airports in many countries of Europe. “The person that will find the cheapest product in Israeli shelling, will be able to receive it as a present” – promised the dealers.

Cigarette and time

It is rather generalized category. Here we can mean any process of expectation, with the aim to while away the time with the help of a cigarette.

You can feel pleasure only from tobacco flavor. The process itself is directed to the human mentality.

In most cases people smoke exactly because of their physiological habit, standing in traffic jam, waiting for the train arrival and many other cases.

Have you noticed that the person who is always occupied with the work is not a smoker? He just does not have time to light a cigarette and to smoke it.

Cigarette and the bed

Hot bodies, twisted hands, the trembling light of TV set screen, quick breathing…

After sex you feel nice physical tiredness, which has to be removed. Tension in muscles…

After smoking a cigarette during 5 minutes you feel how your hands get cold – blood vessels contract, heart beats rhythmically, you relax.

When you feel the breath of your beloved lying next to you and you inhale the cigarette smoke – pleasure increases.

Cuba - Paradise for smokers

Every day flavored smoke of Cuban cigars fills the rooms of Havana’s hotels without causing alarm of personnel or complaints of guests.

Here, you won’t see such tablets as “smoking-room” or “don’t smoke”, it’s almost a decency to puff cigar or cigarette smoke here.

These exclusive privileges are charted for guests in “Conde de Villanueva” – hotel for smokers in old part of the Cuba’s capital.

The employers assert that there is no such place in the world. There are just nine rooms in two-storied building for Cuban tobacco lovers. The apartments are named by the sorts of cigars: “Cohiba”, “Upmann”, “Montecristo”.

The main place of interest of the hotel is smoking-halls, where tobacco-lovers will find all necessary things for tasting of the true “Havanas”.

The true experts can visit “Casa del Tabaco” situated in the hotel. Here you’ll able to purchase all sorts of cigars or to order something specific.

For example, “tabaco” – half-meter cigar.
